Individual warm white lights sit in that channel about six inches apart, each throwing its own pool of light down the wall. Wiring runs inside the channel. Nothing penetrates your shingles and nothing hangs off your gutters.
It runs warm white almost every night of the year, which is the point. Holiday colors are a few weeks out of twelve months. You change it from your phone and you never handle a ladder again.
